I ended up with the 1853 Enfield 3 band musket stock on a trade. It was made by Chiappa with Italian/European walnut, very plain but sturdy. Someone one had started work on the tang, but the rest of the stock is pristine. The tang cutout is nicely done, I presume it fits the correct barrel but I don't have one to check it out with. Who-ever makes your barrel for you could fit it to the mortice. Epoxy is cheap and always fits. Original cost in Taylors catalogue is $285. I will take $150 because of the apparent problem with the tang. You pay the shipping, probably about $40.
